i am just speaking from my own experience, so don't think i'm trying to project onto you. i understand everyone's body behaves differently.
for me i have come to the realization that a the reason for a lot of my mood swings is simply because I DON"T FEEL GOOD. periods suck. i get cramps so bad i end up throwing up uncontrollably for a week, and sometimes it doesn't matter how much i take, it won't help. in that regard, no ammount of birth control will fix my problem, and i've had to accept that, and learn to live with that.
i've been to many doctors, and recieved many different treatments, none of which isolated and 'fixed' the problem, but that's me. i have since found my own routine that has worked to HELP, but not entirely fix the problem. would my routine work for anyone? absolutely not, but again, you have to listen to your own body and go from there.
a doctor may at least help alleviate some symptoms, and i whole-heartedly recommend that you at least talk to a gyn about this. if whatever he recommends doesn't work for you try try again!!! periods are trial and error. you have to find what works for you, and a lot of that STARTS with talking to a doctor about what you are experiencing.
gawd, i sound like a friggin' commercial. : O
either way, explore all your options, and try not to get to worked up over this. it takes patience to find these things out. : )
